CeBIT 2015: Review

For Viprinet, March is CeBIT time. In this year, too, the past weeks full of preparation have payed off for us: We’d thus like to recall these five very successful days on site in Hanover including the highlights of the trade show. This review will give you insights on what has happened during our exhibition and who visited us at our booth.

As an enterprise that, by now, has been firmly established in the IT sector, taking part at CeBIT, Europe’s most important IT special trade show, is essential for us each year anew. Until the last minute, we fine-tune our exhibits, launch a suitable ad campaign beforehand, invite partners and interested customers, and optimize last details at our CeBIT booth. Once again this year, we’ve seen that these efforts have been worthwile. Achieving noticeably more qualified leads than last year shows us that we were dead on with our booth design, with our choice of exhibits as well as with focussing our ad campaign around the topic high reliability.

Hard and soft product innovations

This year, we didn’t only take hardware such as new Hot Plug Modules with us to show at CeBIT, but we’ve also decidedly improved our products’ software prior to the event. At our booth, interested visitors received detailed information about the new generation of our VPN bonding technology, RuggedVPN, that allows bonding even very unreliable WAN connections by utilizing distributed forward error correction. Our revised service and support concept that, depending on the service level chosen, comprises different features like software updates or exchange of devices in case of damage, also attracted wide interest.

In addition, we were able to spare some time in order to publish version 2.0 of our Infographics Generator at CeBIT. The advancement of our already known Infographics Generator allows creating a network plan with Viprinet components just as version 1.0 did, but has been distincly improved in its features and can be used much more comfortably: For instance, Node Stacking can now be depicted, and locations can be named. This incredibly useful tool premiered at this year’s CeBIT and easily enthralled Viprinet employees and partners as well as interested customers.

Don’t hesitate to try the new Infographics Generator 2.0 out for yourself!

More traffic by better coverage

According to this motto, we’ve not only been present in hall 13 this year, but Viprinet was also co-exhibitor at BITMi’s booth in hall 5. BITMi stands for Bundesverband IT-Mittelstand e.V. (“Federal Association IT for Medium-Sized Businesses”), and at this booth, Viprinet CEO Simon Kissel took the chance to discuss the quality of WiFi connections in trains with parliamentary undersecretary Brigitte Zypries, capturing the undersecretary’s imagination in regards to our Viprinet solutions for stable and reliable WiFi in high-speed trains.

At our outdoor area, we not only presented our Internet Rescue Service vehicle, but also our UK distributor Wired Broadcast’s “Radio Lounge™”. The Radio Lounge™ is an eyecatching mobile broadcast studio in the iconic shell of a purpose-built American Airstream™ offering the luxury of a fully-equipped editing room including a guest area. Of course, many visitors found this broadcast trailer to be an absolute eyecatcher, although some of them only wanted to use this location for a quick sun bath.

Our partners on our booth this year were Alcera and Wired Broadcast: Wired Broadcast showed their Mediaport, a portable device that supports web browsing, email access, VPN connections to your company intranet, VoIP telephony, web streaming, and low-latency audio and video codecs for live broadcasts from anywhere. With their service spectrum as Viprinet Bonding Service Provider, our second co-exhibitor Alcera Kommunikationstechnik GmbH offered a suitable extension to our own product portfolio.

Successful finale

In the meantime, our booth party has become a legendary tradition that we also didn’t break with in 2015: In our VIP lounge in the second floor of our booth, DJs Tanzwart and Ronny Pries put on some infectuous beats while, downstairs, more then 500 guests celebrated with us our successful exhibition until late at night, enjoying good food and even better wine from Bingen in two colors. Only this much about the party: For next year, other companies on our hall will probably rethink whether they really want to have their booth parties on the same day we have ours. However, for us this means now: After CeBIT is before CeBIT, so we’ll take some time to tend to the many new leads we gathered this year before we’ll soon start taking first organizational measures for a possible CeBIT 2016 exhibition.
