For the 700 series we have invested heavily in designing a sophisticated energy management from the start. Many hardware components in the system are able to scale between performance and energy consumption. If installed in places with good airflow and ambient temperatures, the maximum bonding capacity can be configured to 2 Gbit/s.

We anticipated that the Gigabond 700 series will be used a wide variety of applications, and therefore with vastly different requirements in regards of power supply and consumption.

Rugged and passively cooled means that these models do not have hot-plug modem slots, but are fully integrated and optimized. Just as the modular 420 router is a massive upgrade to the 310 device, the all new 700 series compared to the 500 series generations of the last 15 years takes WAN bonding to a whole new level.
